Ingredients

2 lb apples, cored and chopped
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 lb ground beef
1 cup raisins or currants
1/2 cup chopped citron
1/2 cup chopped orange peel
1/2 cup chopped lemon peel
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground allspice
1/4 tsp ground mace or nutmeg
2 tbsp brandy or 2 tsp. brandy extact


Directions

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Cover and
simmer for 2 hours, stirring frequently. Let cool and
use for mincemeat pie, cookies, or cake, or freeze
until needed.
Yield: 4 cups.
