The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a weight loss system created by Dr. arthur agatston, a cardiologist from miami, usa, which encourages that one should eat "good carbs" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Doctor agatston invented this diet as an aid to patients with heart conditions, as a consequence of his detailed study of scientific studies on other diets.
Good foods include, lean beef, turkey bacon, fish and shellfish, cottage cheese, peanut butter, lowfat or nonfat milk and some vegatables, like lentils, collard greens and mushrooms.

A low calorie weight loss regime

In simple terms, a low calorie weight loss regime states that if you plan to diet successfully, it is important to eat fewer calories than you burn up.

So what is a calorie?
A calorie is a unit of measurement for energy. A calorie is the the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of one gram of water by one degree celsius. If a food has more calories, then it will gives you more energy to use when eaten.

Low-cal foods include boiled potatoes, radishes, melon, low fat ham, and eggs.

Healthy foods with carotenes
(includes carrots, collard greens and tomato ketchup)
These superfoods contain carotenes believed by nutritionalists be a key nutrient in minimizing the risk of cancer, specifically of the the lung, esophagus and stomach. The majority of these also have a low calorie count, so are ideal for including in your diet.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
Phillip C. McGraw
