The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a diet system started by Miami-based cardiologist arthur agatston which emphasizes that one should consume "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Dr. agatston developed his system as an aid to patients with heart conditions, based on his analysis of scientific studies completed on other diets. Good foods include, veal cutlets, skinless poultry, prawns, fat-free cheeses, pistachios, lowfat yoghurt and certain vegetables, such as black beans, cauliflower and sprouts. Healthy foods with carotenes (includes cilantro, rose hip puree and tomato puree) These orange and green foods are rich in alpha-carotene and beta-carotene thought by experts be a key nutrient in helping stop cancer, particularly of the lungs. A good number are also good for weight loss, so should be included in every diet system. |
