4 tbsp butter buds
10 1/2 oz cream of mushroom soup
1/3 cup skimmed milk
1 lb green beans, sliced
4 each small white onions, chopped
2 each green peppers
1/2 tsp paprika
4 tbsp bread crumbs
1 tsp parmesan cheese
1 d salt & pepper
Directions
COMBINE SOUP, MILK AND 2 TB. BUTTER BUDS IN A SAUCEPAN, HEAT. IN AN OILED
BAKING DISH. PLACE ALTERNATING LAYERS OF VEGETABLES, TOPPING EACH LAYER
WITH PAPRIKA AND BREAD CRUMBS, BUTTER BUDS, SALT AND PEPPER. TOP WITH
REMAINING CHEESE AND BREAD CRUMBS. BAKE AT 375 DEG F. FOR 1 HOUR. 1/6

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a diet initially created by Barry Sears in a number of books and publications. The Zone diet isn’t exactly a weight reduction diet, although many followers believe that they manage to lose weight by following the zone diet. The 'science' behind the Zone Diet is that if you manage to limit the amount of insulin and glucogen (two hormones), then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which, as a consequence puts the body in a state of equilibrium that is an awful lot more healthy than it normally is, this is referred to as 'the zone'. Sears holds the theory that if you get into this 'zone', your metabolism is much more efficient and, as a result, does not need to convert surplus energy to fat. The main method of the zone system is to control the ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to take high levels of Omega 3 and omega 6. The Atkins’ Diet Now nearly 5 decades old, the popular atkins diet achieved most of its fame during the last few years. Although not accepted by all scientists, it supposedly allows fat reduction whilst allowing you to eat many of the foods you love, for example beef and some dairy produce. With the atkins diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, it is the carbs that are on the banned list. It is referred to as a low carbohydrate/high protein, diet. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including, but not limited to, cereals and pasta made from white flour. On the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are still nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter & olive oil. The Atkins’ Diet Theory The theory of the atkins diet is that if we consume fewer carbohydrates, we will utilise the fat we already carry and we will get rid of some fat Superfoods containing flavonoids (inlcudes garlic, brussels sprouts, soy and chamomile) The nutrients called 'flavonoids' present in these foods are thought to have properties in helping to prevent cancer. Nutritionalists researching the properties of flavonoids suspect that they may well have numerous other healthy benefits, amongst them, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. A good number are also low in calories, so should be a part of every weight loss program. |
