Superfoods containing lycopene
(includes apricots, red peppers & rosehip)

The chemical lypcopene is a simple compound used to color foods and part of the same group of phytochemicals as carotene. This chemical is the reason for the vivid red color of some fruit and vegetables.

Usefully, unlike most other nutritional compounds, it does not degrade if cooked, rather it is truly improved by being heated.

. Its key health contribution is that it serves as an antioxidant and seems to help reduce the probabilty of developing cancer.

Lycopene is the most effective fighter of singlet oxygen, which is correlated with aging of the skin. It's also believed to prevent the progression of atherosclerosis.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
