The Glycaemic Index Diet
The glycaemic index weight loss program is based around the gi (or glycaemic index), a list of food types and a score illustrating the speed that the carbohydrates in the food gets converted to sugar in the dieters blood stream. The theory is that slow acting food types (ie those with a low Glycaemic score), keep you satisfied for a longer period of time and mean that you can eat fewer food without being miserabl;e. It is also extremely beneficial for individuals with diabetes, as the low GI food types are useful in reducing surges in blood glucose secretion. Superfoods containing flavonoids (inlcudes cranberry, kale, soya beans and basil) The large family of compounds known as flavonoids present in these fruit and vegetables are believed to be good as cancer fighters. Researchers looking into the nutritional effects of flavonoids believe they may well have most other healthy properties, amongst them, anti-dermatitis and antioxidant powers. The majority of these also help you lose weight, so are ideal for including in your diet system. |
