The Atkins’ Diet
Now nearly 5 decades old, the famous atkins diet has been one of the most popular weight loss systms over the last few years. Having many well known film stars amongst its supporters, it enables fat reduction but still allows you to eat many of the foods you love, such as lamb and hard cheese.
Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, it is the carbs that must be avoided. Because of this, it is known as a low carbohydrate/high protein, diet.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including, but not limited to, cereals and pasta made from white flour.
On the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are still nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter & olive oil.

The Atkins’ Diet Theory
The logic behind the famous atkins diet is that although our bodies use both fats and carbs to change into carbohydrates, it is the carbs that are burned primarily. If we eat less carbs, we will burn up the fat we have stored and we will become thinner. Although inviting, this theory is contentious, not all experts concur and a good number of feel it can sometimes be hazardous.

Foods rich in lycopene
(includes apricots, papaya and tomatoes)

The chemical lypcopene is a natural compound and a member of the same group of phytochemicals as carotene. It is the agent responsible for the dark red color of many fruit, vegetables and pulses.

Fortunately, unlike many vitamins, it is not damaged if it is cooked, rather it is really improved by being heated.

. Its main advantage is that it is an antioxidant and is thought to be of use in the battle to lower the risk of developing cancer.

It is the most potent remover of singlet oxygen, which is linked with skin aging. It is also thought to slow down the development of diseases affecting arterial blood vessels.

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
