The low calorie diet
As most people know, a low calorie weight loss regime depends on the fact that if you want to lose weight, it is important to consume fewer calories than your body normally needs. What is a calorie? The calorie is a unit for measuring food's ability to produce heat and energy. A food calorie is the the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 degree centigrade at atmospheric pressure. If your meal has more calories, then it will turn into more energy when it is eaten. Examples of low calorie foods include watercress, cabbage, watermelon, low fat ham, and low-fat cheese. Foods high in flavonoids (inlcudes olive oil, red apples, adzuki bean & chamomile) The large family of compounds known as flavonoids found in these fruit and vegetables show promise as anti-carcinogens. Medical experts researching the effects of flavonoids suspect that they might also have most other healthy benefits, including, but not limited to, anti-asthma and antioxidant capabilities. Most are also good for weight loss, so should be included in every diet. |
