Weight loss diets

The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi index nutrition system is based on the glycaemic index, a list showing types of food and a score illustrating the speed that the energy in the food type gets changed to sugar in the dieters blood stream. The believe is that slow release foods (ie those food types with a low Gi number), keep you feeling full longer and help to cut down on food without feeling you are always hungry.
It's also extremely useful for people with diabetes, as the low GI food types are useful in reducing rises in blood glucose secretion.

The Atkins’ Diet
Now nearly 5 decades old, the atkins diet achieved most of its fame during the last decade. Popular with many famous celebrities, it claims to allow weight loss whilst allowing many foods that are not normally available to dieters, like meat and eggs.
Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, it is the carbs that must be avoided. It is referred to as a low carbohydrate, high protein, nutrition system.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
On the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are still nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and, as a consequence, poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a result, olive oil.

The Atkins’ Diet Theory
The theory of the famous atkins diet is that if we reduce your intake of carbs, our bodies will utilize the fat we have stored and we will reduce weight

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
