The Atkins’ Diet
First invented by doctor atkins in the sixities, the famous atkins diet has been one of the most popular weight loss systms over the last few years. Although not accepted by all scientists, it supposedly allows weight reduction whilst allowing many foods that are not normally available to dieters, eg bacon and eggs.
On the atkins diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, it is carbohydrates that need to be avoided. Because of this, it is known as a high protein, low carb, weight loss regime.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, amongst them, cereals and pasta made from white flour.
Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat continues to be nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil.

The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi (or glycaemic index) diet is based on the gi index, a list showing food types and an indicator of the rapidity that the energy in the food gets converted to glucose in the dieters bloodstream. The claim is that long-acting food types (ie those foods with a low Gi number), keep you satisfied for a longer period of time and help to take in fewer food without being miserabl;e.
It is also extremely beneficial for individuals with diabetes, as the low GI food types are beneficial in preventing increases in glucose secretion.

Lycopene rich foods
(includes grapefruit, papaya and baby jackfruit)

The chemical lypcopene is a naturally occurring chemical compound and a member of the same family of phytochemicals as carotene. This chemical is the agent responsible for the deep red hue of a good number of foods.

Intrestingly, unlike many nutrients, lycopene is not damaged if it is cooked, instead it is in actuality made more effective by going through the cooking process.

. Its most valuable medical value is that it works as an antioxidant and is thought to be an asset in the fight to reduce the chances of developing cancer.

It is the strongest carotenoid quencher of singlet oxygen, which is connected with skin aging. It's also thought by many researchers to hamper the progression of atherosclerosis.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
