Ingredients
13 oz can skim evaporated milk
3 tbsp cocoa
1/4 cup butter
1 tbsp granulated sugar replacement
1 dash salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 cup unsweetened cereal crumbs
1/4 cup nuts, very finely chopped

Combine milk and cocoa in saucepan; cook and beat over low heat until
cocoa is dissolved. Add butter, sugar replacement, salt and vanilla. Bring
to a boil; reduce heat and cook for 2 minutes. Remove from heat; add cereal
crumbs and work in with wooden spoon. Cool 15 minutes. Divide in half;
roll each half into a tube, 8 inch long. Roll each tube in finely chopped
nuts. Wrap in waxed paper; chill overnight. Cut into 1/4 inch slices.
YIELD: 64 Slices

Foods containing allyl sulfides
( includes eschalot, white onions and welsh onion) The onion family of foods is rich in allyl sulphides, a chemical which experts believe may be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Even though there is little scientific evidence at hand, allyl sulphides are also believed to reduce symptoms with blood circulation, high blood pressure and fatigue. Foods containing allyl sulfides also have a low calorie count, so should be a part of every weight loss regime. Flavonoid foods (inlcudes olive oil, kale, soya beans and dill) The flavonoids present in these fruit, vegetables and pulses are thought by nutritionalists to have properties in fighting cancer. Specialists studying the properties of flavonoids think they could also have many other health giving capabilities, including anti-asthma and anti-inflammatory activities.. A good number are also good for weight loss, so are ideal for including in your diet system. The Glycaemic Index Diet The gi index weight loss program is linked to the gi (or glycaemic index), a list of types of food and a score representing the ease with which the carbs in the food gets converted to glucose in your system. The believe is that long-acting food types (ie those foods with a low Gi score), keep you satiated for longer and help you to eat less food without being miserabl;e. It is also extremely useful for people with diabetes, as the low GI types of food are beneficial in managing increases in blood sugar levels. |
