The Recipe Instructions

Ingredients

2 tbsp warm water
1 tbsp dry baker's yeast
1 tbsp fruit sweetener
2 cup whole wheat pastry flour
3 cup unbleached white flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup cold butter
2 cup buttermilk
1 tbsp fruit sweetener

Directions

Place the warm water in a small bowl with the yeast and 1 tablespoon of the
sweetener. Stir until the yeast is moistened. Then set the bowl aside until
the yeast is bubbly, at least 5 minutes. Sift the flours, baking powder,
baking soda, and salt together into a medium sized bowl. Cut the butter
into 1/2 inch pieces. Use the fingers and thumb of each hand to rub in the
pieces of butter until the mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Be sure to
lift your hands out of the bowl while simulatneously using your thumbs to
rub the flour and butter across your fingers. Make a well in the center. In
a small bowl, combine the buttermilk with the remaining 1 tablespoon fruit
sweetener and the activated yeast. Pour them into the center of the dry
ingredients. Form a rough dough, mixing quickly and gently with your hands.
Cover the bowl with plastic and refrigerate for 1 hour. Preheat the oven to
375 degrees, line a baking pan with baking paper. Remove from the
refrigerator that portion of the dough you want to make into biscuits and
knead it until smooth, 10-15 kneads. Roll the dough out 3/4 inch thick.
With a lightly floured cutter, cut out 2-3 inch biscuits. Place the
biscuits on the prepared pan and bake until golden brown, about 15-20
minutes. Serve Angel Biscuits hot from the oven.

Angel biscuit dough can be kept in the refrigerator up to one week before
baking.

Servings: 15

Types of diet

The Atkins’ Diet
First invented by doctor atkins in the 1960s, the famous atkins diet achieved most of its fame during the last decade. Although not accepted by all scientists, it enables fat reduction whilst allowing many foods that are not normally available to dieters, such as lamb and hard cheeses.
With the atkins diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, avoiding carbohydrates almost completely. Because of this, it is known as a low carbohydrate, high protein, diet.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
On the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a consequence, olive oil.

The Atkins’ Diet Theory
The controversial theory behind the atkins diet is that if we cut down on carbs, our bodies will use up our fat and we will reduce weight

The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi index nutrition system is reliant on the glycaemic index, a chart showing types of food and a score illustrating the ease with which the energy of the food type gets changed to sugar in your body. The believe is that long-acting foods (ie those with a low Gi score), keep you satiated for longer and help to reduce your consumption of food without feeling you are missing out.
It's also extremeley useful for folk with diabetes, as the low GI food types are helpful in minimizing increases in glucose amount.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
