Weight loss systemsThe South Beach Diet The South Beach diet is a diet system created by Dr. arthur agatston which encourages that one should eat "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Agatston invented his dietary regime for his cardiac patients, as a consequence of his detailed study of scientific data completed on other weight loss systems. Examples of good foods include, veal cutlets, turkey breast, fish and shellfish, fat free cheese, pistachios, lowfat milk and certain vegetables, like butter beans, collard greens and water chestnuts. The Glycaemic Index Diet The gi index nutrition and weightloss system is based on the gi index, a list showing food types and a score representing the speed that the energy of the food gets transformed to sugar in the dieters blood stream. The theory is that slow release types of food (ie with a low Gi score), suppress your appetite and help to reduce your intake of food without starving yourself. It is also beneficial for people with diabetes, as the low GI food types are beneficial in reducing rises in blood sugar secretion. |
