Weight loss systems


The Atkins’ Diet
Originating way back in the 1960s, the popular atkins diet has been one of the most popular weight loss systems over the last few years. Having many well known film stars amongst its supporters, it claims to allow fat reduction whilst allowing many foods that are not normally available to dieters, like pork and eggs.
With the atkins diet you eat protein and fat, it is carbohydrates that need to be avoided. It is referred to as a low carbohydrate, high protein, diet.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
With the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat continues to be nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and, as a consequence, poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a result, olive oil.

The Atkins’ Diet Theory
The controversial theory behind the atkins diet is that if we eat less carbohydrates, we will use up the fat we already carry and we will lose weight




The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a diet invented by Dr. arthur agatston, a cardiologist from miami, usa, which emphasizes the consumption of "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Doctor agatston invented his system as an aid to patients with heart conditions, as a result of his detailed study of scientific research completed on other weight loss systems.
"good" foods include, veal cutlets, turkey bacon, seafood, ricotta cheese, pistachio nuts, lowfat yoghurt and certain vegetables, such as lentils, eggplant and spinach.
