Ingredients
2 cup ripe bananas, mashed
8 oz (1 can) crushed pineapple, water-packed drained
2 cup unsweetened orange juice
2 tbsp lemon juice
Directions
Combine all ingredents, stirring well, pour into 8" square baking pan.
Freeze mixture until almost firm. Spoon mixture into large bowl, abd beat
at medium speed of electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Spoon

Types of dietThe Atkins’ Diet Now nearly 5 decades old, the atkins diet achieved most of its fame during the last decade. Although not accepted by all scientists, it supposedly allows fat reduction whilst allowing you to eat many of the foods you love, for example fatty meat and hard cheese. With this diet it is considered good to eat fat and protein, it is the carbs that must be avoided. Because of this, it is known as a high protein, low carb, diet. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour. With this diet the foods you are encouraged to eat continues to be nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a consequence, olive oil. The Atkins’ Diet Theory The theory of the atkins diet is that although our bodies use both fats and carbs to change into glucose, it is the carbohydrates which are burned first. If we reduce your intake of carbohydrates, our bodies will utilise the fat we have stored and we will lose weight. This theory is contentious, not all medical experts are in agreement and some experts feel it might be unsafe. The Glycaemic Index Diet The gi index nutrition system is based on the gi (or glycaemic index), a chart showing food types and a score illustrating the rapidity that the glucose in the food type gets converted to glucose in your system. The theory is that long-acting types of food (ie those with a low Glycaemic score), keep you feeling full longer and help you to reduce your consumption of food without feeling you are always hungry. It is also extremeley useful for diabetics, as the low GI foods are beneficial in minimizing rises in blood glucose amount. The South Beach Diet The South Beach diet is a diet started by Dr. arthur agatston, a cardiologist from miami, usa, which encourages the consumption of "good carbs" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Doctor agatston invented his weight loss regime as an aid to patients with heart conditions, based on his detailed study of scientific research completed on other weight loss systems. Examples of good foods include, canadian bacon, turkey breast, fish and shellfish, parmesan cheese, peanut butter, nonfat yoghurt and some vegatables, like kidney beans, cabbage and snow peas. |
