Ingredients
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
1/2 cup cold water
1 cup orange juice
6 tbsp lemon juice
4 tbsp sugar
1 cup strawberries, peaches or other fres, h fruit
3 bananas, mashed
Directions
Soften the gelatin in the water. Stir over low heat until dissolved.
Mix in the juices, sugar and sliced fruit, and place in the freezer
until almost set. Beat with an electric mixer on high speed until
creamy, but fluffy.
Cover and return to the freezer. If fruit ice is made some time
before serving, it must be rebeaten and then returned to the freezer
for a brief period.
Yield: 8 (90 calorie) servings.

The science claimed for the Zone Diet is that if one can manage to limit the levels of two key hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which, in turn puts one's body in a balanced state which is much, much more wholesome than other diets, this is referred to as 'the zone'. Sears claims that a body that is in 'the zone' is working at its most efficient and, as a consequence, does not build up fat. The most valuable procedure of the diet is to maintain the precise ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to take large amounts of Omega 3 and omega 6. |
