The Recipe Instructions

Ingredients

3 egg whites
1/2 cup sugar
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 tsp vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp instant tea
2 tbsp water
1/2 cup margarine, melted
1 fortunes on slips of paper

Directions

Mix egg whites, sugar and salt thoroughly with spoon. Mix in
remaining ingredients, except fortunes. Cover bowl with plastic wrap
and chill for 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease baking sheet. Have clean white cotton
gloves ready to use when folding and shaping the hot cookies. If
gloves are not available, use two pieces of paper towelling folded to
several thicknesses to protect fingers from the hot cookies. Also
have some clean muffin tins ready to hold baked cookies while they
cool.

Shape and bake 2 cookies at a time. For each cookie, drop 1 teaspoon
batter onto a baking sheet. Spread the batter with back of spoon to
make a 3-inch circle.

Bake at 350F for 3 to 5 minutes, or until edges turn light brown.

WORK VERY QUICKLY. Remove one cookie with wide spatula to counter
top. Place a fortune paper across center of cookie. Using gloves or
paper towelling, fold edge of cookie over to make a semicircle. Hold
cookie on the ends and place the middle of folded edge over top of
muffin pan; bend ends down. Place folded cookie carefully in a
muffin cup to cool. Repeat process. Makes 36 cookies.

The Glycaemic Index Diet
The glycaemic index diet is linked to the gi index, a list showing types of food and a score representing the speed with which the energy in the food gets changed to sugar in the dieters system. The theory is that slow acting types of food (ie those food types with a low Glycaemic index score), will keep you feeling full for longer and help to take in less food without feeling you are missing out.
It is also especially beneficial for individuals with diabetes, as the low GI food types are useful in controlling rises in blood glucose levels.

The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a diet plan created by Florida-based cardiologist arthur agatston which stresses the consumption of "good carbs" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Dr. agatston developed the south beach diet for his cardiac patients, based on his detailed analysis of scientific data on other dietary studies.
Approved foods include, lean beef, turkey breast, seafood, mozzarella cheese, pistachios, lowfat yoghurt and some vegatables, like black beans, cucumbers and sprouts.

Lycopene foods
(includes water melon, red peppers & cochinchin gourd)

The nutrient lypcopene is a non-synthetic compound used to color foods and one of the same group of phytochemicals as carotene. Lycopene is the reason for the red color of some fruit, vegetables and pulses.

Unlike numerous other healthy agents, lycopene is not damaged if it is cooked, instead it is noticeably strengthened by the cooking process.

. Lycoprene's main advantage is that it serves as an antioxidant and appears to be of use in the battle to reduce the probabilty of cancer.

It is the strongest fighter of singlet oxygen, which is linked with skin aging. It is also believed to slow down the progression of diseases affecting arterial blood vessels.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
