Diet Five-Layered Mexican Dip Recipe brought to you by Diet Recipes To-Go
Diet informationThe Glycaemic Index Diet The gi index nutrition and weightloss system is based on the gi index, a list showing types of food and a score illustrating the ease that the glucose and energy in the food type gets converted to sugar in the dieters system. The believe is that slow release types of food (ie those with a low Glycaemic score), keep you satiated for longer and mean that you can eat less food without feeling you are always hungry. It is also very efficient for sufferers from diabetes, as the low GI types of food are beneficial in minimizing increases in blood sugar levels. The Atkins’ Diet Developed by dr. robert atkins in the 1960s, the atkins diet achieved most of its fame during the last few years. Although highly controversial, it supposedly allows weight loss but still allows you to eat foods that are normally considered bad for diets, eg fatty meat and eggs. With the atkins diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, it is the carbs that are on the banned list. Because of this, it is known as a low carbohydrate/high protein, nutrition and weightloss system. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour. Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are still nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a result, olive oil. The Atkins’ Diet Theory The 'science' behind the atkins diet is that if we eat less carbs, we will consume our fat and we will achieve weight loss The Zone Diet The Zone diet is a nutrition system primarily invented by Barry Sears in a number of books and publications. The Zone diet is not exactly a fat reduction diet, nevertheless many zone diet fans find that they manage to lose weight by following it. The main scientific theory behind the Zone Diet is that if one can gain control of the levels of two key hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then your body releases eicosanoids (anti-inflamatory chemicals) which puts your body in a state of balance that is much more wholesome than usual, which, not surprisingly, is known as 'the zone'. Sears claims that if you get into this 'zone', your metabolism is working at its best and, as a consequence, does not build up layers of fat. The most important procedure of the system is to maintain the precise ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to make sure your diet has increased amounts of Omega 3 and omega 6. |
