Ingredients
1 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion, chopped
10 Greek olives, pitted, chopped
2 plum tomatoes, chopped
2 tbsp capers
2 garlic cloves, pressed
1/2 cup dry red wine
1 pinch dried hot red pepper flakes, (optional)
4 tbsp butter
2 lb red snapper fillets
Directions
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat until very hot. Add onion and
olives. Cook, stirring occasionally, 3 minutes, or until onion is
transparent. Add tomatoes, capers, garlic, wine, and red pepper flakes, if
using. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, melt butter in another large skillet over medium heat. Cook
snapper (in batches, if necessary) 2 minutes per side or until lightly
browned. Transfer snapper fillets to tomato mixture in the skillet, cover,
and cook over medium heat 3 to 4 minutes, just until fish is cooked
through. Serve immediately.

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a weight loss regime initially created by Barry Sears in a series of books and publications. The Zone diet is not particularly a weight loss diet, however some people claim that they reduce weight by following this system. The main theory behind the Zone Diet is that if you can control the secretion of two key hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then your body releases eicosanoids (anti-inflamatory chemicals) which, as a consequence puts one's body in a state of equilibrium that is a lot more wholesome than normal, which followers of the diet, refer to as '"he zone". Sears holds the theory that if you get into this 'zone', your metabolism is perfectly balanced and, as a consequence, doesn't build up layers of fat. The most important technique of the zone system is to keep tight control over the exact ratio of carbs to proteins, and to make sure your diet has increased amounts of Omega 3 fish oils. Flavonoid foods (inlcudes citrus fruits, apples, lima bean & basil) The compounds known as flavonoids which exist in these fruits and vegetables are thought to have properties as anti-carcinogens. Specialists who have been studying the nutritional effects of flavonoids think that they also have many other benefits to our wellbeing, including anti-allergic and anti-platelet capabilities. Most are low in calories, so should be included in your weight loss program. |
