Weight loss systems

The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a diet system started by Dr. arthur agatston, a cardiologist from miami, usa, which stresses the consumption of "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Doctor agatston invented his weight loss system for his cardiac patients, as a consequence of his analysis of scientific data completed on other diets.
Good foods include, lean cuts of beef, turkey bacon, shellfish, cottage cheese, peanut butter, lowfat milk and certain vegetables, like black beans, collard greens and water chestnuts.

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a nutrition and weightloss system first advocated by Barry Sears in a series of books, publications and an associated web site. The Zone diet isn’t expressly a fat reduction diet, nevertheless many 'zone dieters' find that they manage to lose a few pounds by following it.
The 'science' claimed for the Zone Diet is that if you can control the secretion of the hormones 'insulin' and 'glucogen', then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which, as a result puts one's body in a state of equilibrium that is more wholesome than it normally is, which, not surprisingly, is known as 'the zone'.
Sears alleges that when your body is in this 'zone' it is perfectly balanced and, as a consequence, does not convert energy to unsightly fat.
The key method of the zone system is to keep tight control over the ratio of carbs to proteins, and to ensure your diet has plenty of Omega 3 and omega 6.

The Glycaemic Index Diet
The glycaemic index nutrition and weightloss system is linked to the glycaemic index, a list of food types and an indicator of the speed that the glucose in the food gets converted to glucose in your system. The claim is that long-acting types of food (ie those food types with a low Glycaemic score), will keep you feeling full for longer and help to eat less food without feeling you are missing out.
It is also extremely good for diabetics, as the low GI types of food are beneficial in managing rises in blood sugar secretion.

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
