Lycopene super foods
(includes water melon, papaya and sweet gourd)

The phytochemical lycopene is a non-synthetic coloring compound and one of the carotenid family of phytochemicals. This chemical is the agent responsible for the dark red hue of many fruits and vegetables.

Fortunately, unlike numerous vitamins, lycopene is not damaged if it is cooked, but is noticeably increased in efficacy by being cooked.

. Lycoprene's most valuable benefit is that it behaves as an antioxidant and seems to help to reduce the probabilty of cancer.

It is the most potent eliminator of singlet oxygen, which is correlated with skin aging. It is also thought by nutritionalists to hamper the growth of atherosclerosis.

The Atkins’ Diet
Although it originated back in the 1960s, the popular atkins diet is still one of the most popular diets today. Popular with many famous celebrities, it claims to allow fat reduction but still allows you to eat many foods that would not be part of a normal diet, like pork and hard cheeses.
With the atkins diet you are encouraged to eat meat and fat, it is carbohydrates that need to be avoided. Because of this, it is known as a low carb/high protein, weight loss program.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including, but not limited to, cereals and pasta made from white flour.
Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are still nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish & poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil.

The Atkins’ Diet Theory
The theory of the famous atkins diet is that although our bodies use both fats and carbs to change into glucose and energy, it is the carbohydrates that are burned first. If we take in less carbs, our bodies will utilize our stored fat and we will diet successfully. This is the bit that is divisive, not all researchers accept this as true and some think it might be risky.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
