Ingredients
1 tbsp dried onion flakes
1/2 tbsp dried celery flakes
2 tbsp dried parsley
1/2 tsp dried garlic flakes
1 tbsp dried green pepper flakes
1/2 tsp ground tumeric
1 tbsp chicken flavored granules, or bouillion
1 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 pinch ground cloves
1/2 cup wild or brown rice
2 1/2 cup water
1 cup scallion, chopped green with some w
Directions
In a small bowl, combine the first 10 ingredients. In a medium saucepan,
combine the rice, water, and the herb mixture. Bring to a boil, partially
cover, lower the heat, and simmer for 45 minutes, or until the rice is
cooked. Fluff with a fork. Fold in the scallions and serve at once.

( includes eschalot, onions and green onion) The onion family of foods is rich in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe could be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Even though there is not much scientific proof at hand, allyl sulphides are also thought by nutritionalists to help with colds, high blood pressure and insomnia. Foods containing allyl sulfides also have a low calorie count, so should be included in every diet.
