Superfoods containing flavonoids
(inlcudes olive oil, red apples, soya & cayenne)

The nutrients called 'flavonoids' present in these natural foods are believed to be helpful in fighting cancer.
Experts investigating the properties of flavonoids suspect that they may also have many other benefits to our wellbeing, including, but not limited to, anti-candida and antitumor properties.
Many also have a low calorie count, so you should add them to your weight loss program.

Foods containing allyl sulfides
( includes pickled shallots, onions and green onion)

The onion and garlic range of vegetables is rich in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe may be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer.
Even though there is precious little scientific proof present, allyl sulfides are also thought by many experts to reduce problems with blood circulation, sterilization and diabetes.

Foods containing allyl sulfides are low in calories, so should be a part of every weight loss regime.

The low-cal diet

In simple terms, the low calorie diet is based on the fact that if you intend to get rid of some fat, the most important step is to eat fewer calories than your body normally needs.

So what is a calorie?
The calorie is a unit for measuring food's ability to produce heat and energy. A calorie is the the energy required to increase the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 degree centigrade at normal atmospheric pressure. If a meal has higher calories, then it will turn into more energy when your body converts it.

Low-cal food types include green beans, tomatoes, grapefruit, ground turkey, and bamboo shoots.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
Phillip C. McGraw
