Ingredients
1 lb milkcote coating
Directions
In the top of a double boiler, melt milkcote over hot, not boiling
water. Paint sides and bottoms of candy cups or small baking cups
with melted coating, using a good quality 1-inch brush. Freeze until
firm. Remove from freezer and fill to within 1/16-inch from the top
with dietetic jellies, peanut butter filling, nut meats, raisins, or
any filling a diabetic may eat. Add milkcote to cover top and seal
edges. Chill again until top is firm. Store candies in their paper

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a diet initially advocated by Barry Sears in a series of books and publications. The Zone diet isn’t distinctly a weight reduction diet, however some people discover that they reduce weight when following it. The science claimed for the Zone Diet is that if one can manage to gain control of the amount of the hormones 'insulin' and 'glucogen', then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which, in turn puts the body in a state of equilibrium which is more wholesome than other diets, this is referred to as 'the zone'. Sears claims that when in the 'zone', your body is working at its most efficient and, as a consequence, does not convert energy to unsightly fat. The most important method of the zone diet is to control the exact ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to ensure you get plenty of Omega 3 and omega 6. The brassicas, Super foods that also help your Your diet (eg. Broccoli, Fresh green beans, Mustard greens and Chinese cabbage) Altthough not always popular with children, these vegetables are packed with vitamins (folate and vitamin c), minerals (selenium and potassium, amongst others), fibre, chlorophyll, antioxidents, indole-3-carbinol and isothiocyanates.. Amongst many other health giving properties, these contain isothiocyanates, which are believed by scientists to significantly lower the risk of getting cancer. |
