Diet Diabetic Angel Food Ice Cream Cake Recipe brought to you by Diet Recipes To-Go
Types of dietThe Atkins’ Diet Developed by dr. robert atkins in the 1960s, the atkins diet is still one of the most popular diets today. Popular with many famous celebrities, it enables fat reduction whilst still eating many of the foods you love, like meat and egg and cheese. With this diet you eat protein and fat, it is the carbs that are on the banned list. It is referred to as a low carb/high protein, nutrition and weightloss system. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour. With the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are still nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and, as a result, poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil. The Atkins’ Diet Theory The 'science' behind the atkins diet is that even though our bodies use both fats and carbs to convert into glucose and energy, it is the carbohydrates that are burned primarily. If we cut down on carbs, we will use our stored fat and we will lose weight. This is the bit that is divisive, not all doctors accept this as true and a few believe it can be dangerous. |
