Ingredients
1 dozen large eggs
1/2 cup fat-free cottage cheese
3 tbsp lite mayonaisse
2 tbsp sweet pickle relish
1/2 tsp dry mustard
Paprika, for garnish
Directions
Place the eggs in a large saucepan with enough water to cover by 1 inch.
Bring to a simmer (do not boil!) and cook 10 minutes (start the timer as
soon as the water bubbles). Drain and set the pan under cold running water
for 2 minutes. Peel the eggs and slice them in half lengthwise. With a
small spoon, carefully remove the yolks, reserving 6 yolks for another use.
In a blender, puree the cottage cheese until smooth; set aside.
In a medium bowl, mix the remaining 6 egg yolks with the cottage cheese
mixture, mayonaisse, relish, and mustard; spoon the mixture back into the
hollowed-out egg whites. Arrange the eggs on a platter and sprinkle with
paprika.

Comments: This old-fashioned picnic dish lost a lot of its fat and
calories with the help of fat-free cottage cheese -- a perfect stand-in for
both the fatty egg yolk and the mayonaisse.

Diet Deviled Eggs Recipe brought to you by Diet Recipes To-Go
Weight loss systemsThe South Beach Diet The South Beach diet is a diet system created by Cardiologist arthur agatston which encourages that one should eat "good carbs" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Agatston developed this diet for people who have heart disease, as a consequence of his detailed analysis of scientific studies completed on other weight loss regimes. Examples of good foods include, canadian bacon, skinless poultry, fish, fat free cheese, pecan halves, lowfat yoghurt and certain vegetables, such as asparagus, celery and sprouts. The Glycaemic Index Diet The glycaemic index nutrition and weight loss system is linked to the glycaemic index, a chart showing foods and a score representing the ease with which the carbs of the food gets converted to sugar in the dieters system. The claim is that slow release types of food (ie those foods with a low Glycaemic score), suppress your appetite and help you to eat less food without feeling hungry. It is also very good for diabetes sufferers, as the low GI types of food are beneficial in minimizing rises in glucose secretion. |
