Weight loss systemsThe South Beach Diet The South Beach diet is a diet plan created by Cardiologist arthur agatston which stresses that one should consume "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Doctor agatston invented the south beach diet as an aid to patients with heart conditions, as a consequence of his detailed analysis of scientific data on other nutritional studies. Examples of good foods include, lean cuts of beef, turkey bacon, prawns, fat-free cheeses, pistachios, eggs and some vegatables, such as lentils, broccoli and turnips. The Atkins’ Diet Originating way back in the 1960s, the atkins diet is still widely used today. Although highly controversial, it supposedly allows weight reduction whilst encouraging you to eat many of the foods you love, for example fatty meat and butter. With this diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, it is carbohydrates that need to be avoided. It is often referred to as a low carbohydrate, high protein, nutrition system. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour. On the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat continues to be nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and, as a result, poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil. The Atkins’ Diet Theory The 'science' behind the famous atkins diet is that if we reduce your consumption of carbohydrates, we will utilise our stored fat and we will reduce weight |
