The low calorie diet
As most people know, the low-cal diet says that if you intend to reduce weight, it is essential to eat fewer calories than you actually use. Definition of a calorie? A calorie is a unit of measurement for energy. The calorie is the the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 degree centigrade at atmospheric pressure. If something has higher calories, then it will gives you more energy to use when it is eaten. Low-cal food types include broccoli, cucumbers, apricot, beef, and eggs. The Glycaemic Index Diet The gi index diet is based around the glycaemic index, a list of food types and a score representing the ease that the glucose of the food type gets changed to glucose in the dieters bloodstream. The believe is that slow acting foods (ie those foods with a low Gi number), will keep you feeling full for longer and help to eat fewer food without being miserabl;e. It's also extremely effective for people with diabetes, as the low GI types of food are helpful in minimizing increases in glucose secretion. The brassicas, Healthy superfoods that help with Dieting (includes Cauliflower, Watercress, Turnip greens and Radishes) These cruciferous vegetables are full of vitamins (folate and vitamin c, for example), minerals (selenium and potassium, amongst others), fibre, chlorophyll, antioxidents, isothiocyanates, and indole-3-carbinol. In addition to their many other health and diet benefits, these contain isothiocyanates, which are thought by doctors to help reduce the cancer risk. |
