Types of diet


The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi (or glycaemic index) nutrition and weightloss system is reliant on the glycaemic index, a chart showing food types and a score representing the speed that the glucose of the food type gets transformed to sugar in your system. The theory is that slow acting foods (ie those food types with a low Gi number), keep you feeling full longer and help you to reduce your consumption of food without feeling you are always hungry.
It is also extremeley effective for people with diabetes, as the low GI foods are beneficial in managing increases in glucose levels.


The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a diet plan started by Dr. arthur agatston, a cardiologist from miami, usa, which emphasizes the consumption of "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Doctor agatston developed this diet as an aid to patients with heart conditions, as a consequence of his detailed analysis of scientific research on other dietary studies.
Approved foods include, veal cutlets, chicken breast, clams, provolone cheese, peanut butter, nonfat milk and certain vegetables, such as asparagus, lettuce and mushrooms.
