Ingredients
7 oz water packed tuna
1/2 cup mayonnaise, (low-cal 4 me)
1 tsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp curry powder
1/4 tsp prepared horseradish
12 slice white bread* cut in circles (not me, !! whole wheat 4 m
1 softened butter or margarine
Directions
Drain and flake tuna. Combine all ingredients, except bread and butter.
Spread each bread around with butter and tuna mixture. Tops may be
decorated with spring of parsley, bit of pimineto or olive slice. Makes 12
opened faced sandwiches. Food Exchange per serving: 1 STARCH/BREAD EXCHANGE
+ 1 FAT EXCHANGE + 1 LEAN-MEAT EXCHANGE? (whatever 9/16 of a oz which is

The Atkins’ Diet Now nearly 5 decades old, the famous atkins diet is still one of the most popular diets today. Having many well known film stars amongst its supporters, it claims to allow weight loss whilst allowing you to eat foods that are normally considered bad for diets, like bacon and hard cheeses. Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, it is the carbs that must be avoided. It is referred to as a high protein, low carb, weight loss program. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, amongst them, cereals and pasta made from white flour. With this diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are still nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish & poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter & olive oil. The Atkins’ Diet Theory The logic behind the atkins diet is that although our bodies use both fats and carbs to change into glucose and energy, it is the carbs which are burned first. If we consume less carbohydrates, we will use up our stored fat and we will achieve weight loss. This theory is divisive, not all doctors accept this as true and quite a few allege that it might be bad for your health. |
