Healthy foods with carotenes
(includes cilantro, kale and winter squash)
These amazing vegetables and fruits contain carotenes (alpha and beta) thought to help in helping prevent cancer, particularly cancers of the esophagus. Most also help you lose weight, so should be a part of every weight loss regime.

The Atkins’ Diet
Originating way back in the 1960s, the atkins diet has been one of the most popular weight loss systms over the last few years. Although highly controversial, it enables fat reduction whilst allowing you to eat many of the foods you love, such as meat and some dairy produce.
With the atkins diet you eat protein and fat, avoiding carbohydrates almost completely. It is referred to as a high protein, low carb, weight loss program.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including, but not limited to, cereals and pasta made from white flour.
Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat continues to be nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish & poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil.

The Atkins’ Diet Theory
The 'science' behind the popular atkins diet is that if we take in less carbs, we will utilize the fat we already carry and we will lose weight

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
