Ingredients
13 oz can evaporated skim milk
1 each envelope gelatin
1/4 cup banana flakes
Directions
Pour about 2 inches of milk in a cup and sprinkle the gelatin and banana
flakes over it to soften. Stir well.
Meanwhile, scald the rest of the milk in a microwave on high for 5 1/2
minutes or on the stove. Remove any skin that forms on the top of the
milk.
Add the rest of the milk mixed with the gelatin and banana flakes. Stir
well. Let cool a little and then pour the mixture into a blender. Set on
liquify or high and blend until very smooth. Pour into a mixing bowl and
cover with plastic wrap. Let the wrap touch the top of the milk and keep
the gelatin from forming a hard skin on top. Refrigerate for 3-4 hrs until
gelled.
When it has gelled, beat with an electric mixer.
Start slowly, building up to the fastest speed. Beat until the mixture is
fluffy and creamy. Spread on top of a prepared pie.

Diet typesThe Glycaemic Index Diet The gi index diet is linked to the glycaemic index, a list showing types of food and a score representing the rapidity with which the glucose and energy in the food type gets changed to sugar in your bloodstream. The claim is that slow acting food types (ie those food types with a low Gi score), suppress your appetite and help to eat less food without being miserabl;e. It is also beneficial for diabetics, as the low GI foods are useful in managing increases in glucose levels. The Zone Diet The Zone diet is a nutrition and weightloss system primarily created by Barry Sears in a number of books. The Zone diet is not specifically a weight reduction diet, nevertheless some people claim that they actually manage to lose a few pounds by following this system. The 'science' claimed for the Zone Diet is that if one can manage to control the levels of two important hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which, as a consequence puts your body in a balanced state which is much, much more wholesome than usual, which followers of the diet, refer to as '"he zone". Sears states that if you get into this 'zone', your metabolism is perfectly balanced and, as a result, does not build up fat. The main technique of the system is to maintain the precise ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to take large amounts of Omega 3 and omega 6. The South Beach Diet The South Beach diet is a diet plan started by Florida-based cardiologist arthur agatston which encourages that dieters should eat "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Dr. agatston invented his nutritional system as an aid to patients with heart conditions, based on his detailed study of scientific research completed on other nutritional studies. Good foods include, veal cutlets, turkey bacon, fish and shellfish, cottage cheese, peanuts, nonfat yoghurt and certain vegetables, such as lentils, lettuce and snow peas. |
