Ingredients
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/8 tsp ground cloves
4 tbsp raisins
1 cinnamon stick
Directions
Combine the juice and cranberries in a saucepan. Cook over medium
heat just until the berries "pop." Add the remaining ingredients and
cook until the mixture is thick. Serve hot over baked ham (or with
turkey.)

Diet informationThe South Beach Diet The South Beach diet is a diet plan created by Florida-based cardiologist arthur agatston which emphasizes that one should eat "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Doctor agatston invented his weight loss regime for people who have heart disease, as a consequence of his detailed study of scientific data on other weight loss systems. Good foods include, lean cuts of beef, skinless poultry, clams, provolone cheese, peanuts, nonfat milk and some vegatables, like kidney beans, collard greens and sprouts. The Zone Diet The Zone diet is a nutrition and weightloss system initially devised by Barry Sears in a number of books, publications and an associated website. The Zone diet is not distinctly a fat reduction diet, however many zone diet followers discover that they manage to lose body weight by following it. The scientific theory behind the Zone Diet is that if one can limit the amount of two important hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then your body releases eicosanoids (anti-inflamatory chemicals) which puts your body in a balanced state which is more healthful than it normally is, this is referred to as 'the zone'. Sears states that if you get into this 'zone', your metabolism is working at its best and, as a result, doesn't convert energy to unsightly fat. The most important technique of the system is to maintain the precise ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to make sure your diet has increased levels of Omega 6 and omega 3 fish oils. |
