Low calorie diet
Put simply, low calorie diet says that in order to achieve weight loss, it is essential to injest less calories than you use. What is a calorie? A calorie is a measurement of the energy provided by food. The calorie is the the amount of energy required to raise one cubic centimeter of water by one degree centigrade. If a food has higher calories, then it will turn into more energy when it is eaten. Low calorie foods include watercress, swede, water melon, lean ham, and white eggs. The Glycaemic Index Diet The glycaemic index weight loss program is based on the gi (or glycaemic index), a list of foods and an indicator of the speed that the carbohydrates in the food type gets transformed to glucose in the dieters blood stream. The theory is that slow release types of food (ie those with a low Glycaemic index score), keep you satisfied for a longer period of time and mean that you can consume fewer food without feeling you are always hungry. It's also very useful for diabetes sufferers, as the low GI foods are beneficial in preventing surges in blood sugar secretion. Healthy foods with carotenes (includes cilantro, mangos and tomato puree) These orange and green fruit and veg contain the carotenoids believed be a key nutrient in helping stop cancer, specifically those cancers involving the lungs. Many also help you lose weight, so should be included in your weight loss program. |
