Weight loss diets

The Atkins’ Diet
Although it originated back in the 1960s, the famous atkins diet is still one of the most popular diets today. Although not accepted by all scientists, it enables fat reduction but still allows you to eat many of the foods you love, for example meat and hard cheeses.
Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet you eat protein and fat, it is the carbs that are on the banned list. It is referred to as a low carbohydrate, high protein, nutrition and weight loss system.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and, as a result, poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil.

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a nutrition and weightloss system initially created by Barry Sears in a series of books. The Zone diet isn’t distinctly a weight reduction diet, however some people claim that they actually lose weight when following it.
The supposed science behind the Zone Diet is that if you can control the secretion of two important hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which, as a consequence puts one's body in a balanced state which is an awful lot more healthy than other diets, known as the 'zone'.
Sears holds the theory that when your body is in this 'zone' it is perfectly balanced and, because of this, does not convert energy to unsightly fat.
The main process of the zone system is to monitor and control the precise ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to dose yourself with increased amounts of Omega 6 and omega 3 fish oils.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
