Foods containing allyl sulfides
( includes pickled shallots, leeks and welsh onion) The alliaceae range of vegetables is high in allyl sulphides, a chemical which experts believe might be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Although there is precious little real proof obtainable, allyl sulfides are also thought by nutritionalists to reduce the symptoms of blood circulation, high blood pressure and fatigue. Foods containing allyl sulfides are also low in calories, so should be included in your weight loss regime. Brassicas, Superfoods that help with Your diet (includes Broccoli, Boiled potatoes, Mustard greens and Daikon) Known as cruciferous vegetables, these are packed with vitamins (eg.folate and vitamin c), minerals (eg. potassium and selenium), fibre, chlorophyll and antioxidents. Over and above their most other health and weight loss benefits, a few of these nutrients are believed by experts to help reduce the cancer risk. |
