Foods containing allyl sulfides
( includes garlic, chives and spring onions) The onion and garlic family of vegetables is high in allyl sulphides, a chemical which experts believe might be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Even though there is precious little scientific proof obtainable, allyl sulphides are also thought by many researchers to reduce problems with blood circulation, arteriosclerosis and fatigue. Foods containing allyl sulfides are also low in calories, so should be included in every weight loss program. The Glycaemic Index Diet The glycaemic index weight loss program is linked to the gi index, a chart showing foods and a score illustrating the ease that the glucose of the food type gets changed to glucose in the dieters system. The believe is that slow release food types (ie those food types with a low Glycaemic index score), suppress your appetite and help you to consume less food without feeling hungry. It is also very good for diabetics, as the low GI food types are helpful in preventing rises in glucose amount. |
