Foods containing allyl sulfides
( includes eschalot, onions and green onion) The alliaceae family of vegetables is high in allyl sulphides, a chemical which experts believe might be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Although there is not enough, scientific proof obtainable, allyl sulphides are also believed to aid in antiinflammatory effect, sterilization and physical exhaustion. Foods containing allyl sulfides are low in calories, so should be included in your diet system. Carotenoid foods (includes paprika, rose hip puree and sweet potatoes) These healthy plants contain the carotenoids believed by many to play a role in cancer prevention, specifically those cancers involving the lungs and stomach. The majority of these are also good for weight loss, so should be included in every diet system. The Glycaemic Index Diet The glycaemic index diet system is reliant on the gi index, a list showing foods and a score representing the rapidity with which the carbs of the food type gets changed to sugar in your system. The claim is that slow acting foods (ie with a low Glycaemic index score), will keep you feeling full for longer and help you to injest less food without feeling you are always hungry. It is also very efficient for people with diabetes, as the low GI foods are beneficial in preventing surges in blood glucose amount. |
