Weight loss diets

The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi index nutrition system is linked to the gi (or glycaemic index), a chart showing food types and a score representing the speed that the energy in the food type gets converted to glucose in the dieters blood stream. The theory is that slow release types of food (ie those food types with a low Glycaemic index score), keep you satisfied for a longer period of time and mean that you can reduce your consumption of food without feeling you are always hungry.
It is also extremely good for diabetics, as the low GI types of food are useful in reducing increases in blood sugar levels.

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a nutrition and weight loss system primarily advocated by Barry Sears in a series of books. The Zone diet isn’t expressly a weight loss diet, although many followers discover that they actually reduce a few pounds by following this system.
The supposed science behind the Zone Diet is that if one can manage to limit the amount of insulin and glucogen (both hormones), then your body releases eicosanoids which, as a consequence puts the body in a state of balance which is an awful lot more wholesome than other diets, which is known as the zone.
Sears claims that when in the 'zone', your body is much more efficient and, because of this, does not build up fat.
The main technique of the diet is to maintain the precise ratio of carbs to proteins, and to make sure your diet has increased levels of Omega 3 fish oils.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
