Ingredients
1 cup skim milk
1 large egg
1/3 cup light corn syrup
2 tsp light corn syrup
1/2 cup cocoa
2 oz lowfat cream cheese -- in
1 chunks
2 tsp gelatin powder, unsweetened
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp peppermint extract
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbsp sugar
2 large egg whites -- at room
1 temperature
Directions
Whisk 1/4 cup milk, egg, 1/3 cup corn syrup and cocoa till smooth. In large
pot, heat remaining milk till bubbles appear at edges. Whisk some into
cocoa mixture, then whisk back into milk in pot. Cook over medium, stirring
constantly with a wooden spoon for 3-5 m in.. till slightly thickened.
Remove from heat and whisk in chocolate and cream cheese till smooth. Set
aside.
Soften gelatin in 1/4 cup water and heat till dissolved. Whisk into
chocolate mixture along with vanilla and mint. Set aside.
Combine 1/4 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar and 2 tsp. corn syrup in small pot.
Bring to a boil and cook at medium-high for about 5 min. (2 30 deg. - fine
thread stage). Beat egg whites to soft peaks, add 1 Tbsp. sugar and beat
till stiff but not dry. When syrup reaches 239 deg (soft ball stage) pour
over whites, gradually while beating. Beat about 5 min, till stiff, satiny
and cool. Whisk one cup of meringue into chocolate mixture, fold in the

Types of dietThe Atkins’ Diet First invented by doctor atkins in the 1960s, the atkins diet has been one of the most popular weight loss systms over the last few years. Although highly controversial, it supposedly allows fat reduction whilst still eating many foods that would not be part of a normal diet, for example beef and egg and cheese. Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet you are encouraged to eat meat and fat, it is the carbs that are on the banned list. It is referred to as a high protein, low carb, nutrition and weight loss system. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour. On the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and, as a consequence, poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a consequence, olive oil. The Atkins’ Diet Theory The logic behind the famous atkins diet is that if we eat less carbs, we will burn up the fat we already carry and we will become thinner The Zone Diet The Zone diet is a nutrition system initially detailed by Barry Sears in a series of books. The Zone diet is not exactly a fat reduction diet, but many followers believe that they actually lose weight by following the zone diet. The scientific theory behind the Zone Diet is that if you limit the secretion of the hormones 'insulin' and 'glucogen', then your body releases eicosanoids (anti-inflamatory chemicals) which, as a result puts the body in a balanced state that is an awful lot more healthy than normal, this is referred to as 'the zone'. Sears believes that when your body is in this 'zone' it is working at its best and, as a result, doesn't convert energy to unsightly fat. The main technique of the zone diet is to keep tight control over the ratio of carbs to proteins, and to make sure your diet has increased levels of Omega 3 fish oils. The South Beach Diet The South Beach diet is a weight loss system started by Cardiologist arthur agatston which stresses that one should eat "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Agatston invented this diet for people who have cardiac problems, based on his detailed study of scientific studies on other diets. Approved foods include, canadian bacon, turkey bacon, shellfish, cottage cheese, pistachios, nonfat milk and some vegatables, like butter beans, eggplant and snow peas. |
