Ingredients
1 tbsp virgin olive oil
2 cl garlic, minced
3 bell peppers, red green; yellow cut int
2 medium onions, sliced
1 tsp cumin, ground
1 1/2 tsp leaf oregano
2 tsp fresh hot chili pepper or
1 tsp dried hot pepper flakes
12 oz chicken breasts, skinned and boneless
3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Directions
In a large non-stick skillet, heat oil, add garlic and cook 1 munute.
Add bell strips, sliced onion, cumin, oregano, and chile. Mix, cover,
and cook over medium heat 10 minutes. Slice chicken in 1/2" strips
and sprinkle with lemon juice. Add vegetables; stir. Cook, covered,
medium heat 10 minutes more. Stirring occasionally. Add salt and
pepper and garnish with parsley. Serve with "Hash Browns Potatoes"

The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a weight loss system started by Miami-based cardiologist arthur agatston which stresses that dieters should eat "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Agatston developed his nutritional system for people who have cardiac problems, based on his detailed analysis of scientific studies completed on other nutritional studies. Good foods include, broiled ham, skinless poultry, shrimp, parmesan cheese, pistachios, lowfat milk and certain vegetables, such as black beans, eggplant and spinach. Foods containing allyl sulfides ( includes pickled shallots, leeks and green onion) The onion family of foods is rich in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe could be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Even though there is precious little scientific proof published, allyl sulfides are also thought by many experts to reduce problems with colds, high blood pressure and fatigue. Foods containing allyl sulfides are also good for weight loss, so should be included in every diet. |
