Types of diet


The Atkins’ Diet
First invented by doctor atkins in the sixities, the popular atkins diet is still widely used today. Although highly controversial, it claims to allow fat reduction whilst encouraging you to eat many foods that would not be part of a normal diet, such as lamb and eggs.
With the atkins diet you eat protein and fat, avoiding carbohydrates almost completely. It is often referred to as a high protein, low carb, nutrition and weight loss system.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are still nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil.




The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a weight loss system invented by Cardiologist arthur agatston which emphasizes that dieters should eat "good carbs" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Agatston developed this diet for people who have cardiac problems, as a consequence of his detailed study of scientific research completed on other diets.
Good foods include, lean cuts of beef, skinless poultry, fish and shellfish, cottage cheese, pecan halves, nonfat milk and certain vegetables, such as kidney beans, eggplant and mushrooms.
