The low-cal diet

In a nutshell, the low calorie diet says that if you plan to achieve weight loss, the important thing to consume fewer calories than you use.

The calorie defined?
The calorie is the standard unit for energy measurement in dieting. The calorie is the the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of one gram of water by one degree celsius. If your meal contains more calories, then it will turn into a larger amount of energy when your body digests it.

Examples of low calorie foods include celery, tomato, watermelon, beef, and low-fat cheese.


The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi index diet system is based around the glycaemic index, a list of types of food and a score illustrating the ease that the energy of the food type gets converted to glucose in the dieters body. The believe is that long-acting foods (ie those foods with a low Glycaemic index score), will keep you feeling full for longer and mean that you can take in less food without craving snacks all the time.
It is also very useful for individuals with diabetes, as the low GI foods are helpful in preventing rises in blood sugar secretion.

These colorful fruits and vegetables contain carotenes (alpha and beta) thought by many to help in helping stop cancer, particularly those cancers involving the stomach. Many are also good for weight loss, so are ideal for including in your weight loss regime.
