Ingredients

4 each skinless chicken breasts
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 each medium onion
10 oz frozen broccoli, thawed
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp tomato paste
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/8 tsp pepper
1/8 tsp salt
1 each tomato, cut in wedges


Directions

IN A LARGE NONSTICK SKILLET, SAUTE THE CHICKEN IN OIL FOR 12 MINUTES,
TURNING ONCE, UNTIL CHICKEN IS LIGHTLY BROWNED AND COOKED THROUGH. WITH
TONGS, REMOVE THE CHICKEN TO A SERVING PLATTER. ADD ONION TO THE SAME
SKILLET AND SAUTE FOR 5 MINUTES. ADD BROCCOLI, VINEGAR, WORCESTERSHIRE
SAUCE, TOMATO PASTE, THYME, SALT, PEPPER, AND 1 TBSP WATER; COOK THREE
MINUTES. POUR BROCCOLI AND SAUCE OVER CHICKEN. TOP WITH TOMATO WEDGES.
SERVE WARM. MAKES 4 SERVINGS - EACH 208 CALORIES, 31 g PROTEIN, 5 g FAT, 68
mg CHOL, 9 g CARBS, 240 mg SODIUM. DISH IS READY TO SERVE IN ABOUT 30
MINUTES. EACH SERVING = 21.5 % FAT.

Types of diet


The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi (or glycaemic index) nutrition and weightloss system is linked to the gi (or glycaemic index), a chart showing food types and a score representing the ease that the carbs of the food type gets changed to sugar in your body. The believe is that slow acting foods (ie those with a low Glycaemic score), keep you feeling full longer and help you to cut down on food without starving yourself.

The science behind the Zone Diet is that if you manage to control the secretion of two important hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then your body releases eicosanoids (anti-inflamatory chemicals) which, as a result puts the body in a state of balance which is more healthful than it normally is, which is known as the zone.
Sears states that if you get into this 'zone', your metabolism is much more efficient and, as a result, does not need to build up stores of fat.
The key method of the zone diet is to keep tight control over the precise ratio of carbs to proteins, and to make sure your diet has plenty of Omega 3 fish oils.
