Foods containing allyl sulfides
( includes pickled shallots, white onions and welsh onion)

The alliaceae family is rich in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe may be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer.
Even though there is little scientific proof obtainable, allyl sulphides are also thought by nutritionalists to help with antiinflammatory effect, high blood pressure and fatigue.

Foods containing allyl sulfides are also good for weight loss, so you should add them to your diet.

Foods high in flavonoids
(inlcudes lettuce, kale, scarlet runner bean and cayenne)

The compounds known as flavonoids found in these types of food are believed to have properties in helping to prevent cancer.
Experts researching the effects of flavonoids believe they may well also have numerous health giving properties, amongst them, anti-candida and anti-inflammatory properties.
Many also have a low calorie count, so make sure you add them to your diet.

The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi index weight loss program is based around the gi index, a chart showing food types and a score illustrating the rapidity that the glucose and energy in the food type gets changed to sugar in your blood stream. The theory is that slow acting food types (ie those with a low Gi number), keep you feeling full longer and help you to take in fewer food without starving yourself.
It's also very efficient for diabetes sufferers, as the low GI food types are helpful in managing surges in blood glucose amount.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
Phillip C. McGraw
