The South Beach diet is a diet plan created by Miami-based cardiologist arthur agatston which encourages the consumption of "good carbs" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Doctor agatston invented his system for his cardiac patients, as a result of his detailed analysis of scientific research completed on other weight loss systems. Good foods include, canadian bacon, chicken breast, fish and shellfish, fat free cheese, peanuts, lowfat milk and some vegatables, like butter beans, collard greens and turnips. Low calorie diet In simple terms, the low-cal diet says that if you plan to reduce weight, it is important to take in less calories than you actually use. So what is a calorie? The calorie is the standard unit for energy measurement in dieting. A 'calorie' is the the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 degree centigrade at atmospheric pressure. If a food contains more calories, then it will gives you a larger amount of energy when consumed. Low-cal food types include green beans, watercress, watermelon, canadian bacon, and bamboo shoots. The brassicas, Wonderfoods that also help with your Dieting (includes Kale, Cauliflower, Turnips and Daikon) Known as cruciferous vegetables, these are packed with vitamins (eg.folate), minerals (eg. potassium), chlorophyll, fibre, indole-3-carbinol and isothiocyanates..
