Diet Chicken Burgers Mexicali Recipe brought to you by Diet Recipes To-Go
Diet typesThe Glycaemic Index Diet The gi index nutrition system is based on the gi (or glycaemic index), a list of foods and an indicator of the speed with which the carbohydrates of the food type gets changed to glucose in the dieters blood stream. The claim is that slow acting types of food (ie those food types with a low Gi score), suppress your appetite and help to eat less food without feeling you are always hungry. It is also extremely good for individuals with diabetes, as the low GI types of food are helpful in controlling increases in glucose amount. The Atkins’ Diet Developed by dr. robert atkins in the 1960s, the popular atkins diet has been one of the most popular weight loss systems over the last few years. Popular with many famous celebrities, it claims to allow weight loss whilst allowing you to eat many of the foods you love, for example fatty meat and egg and cheese. With this diet it is considered good to eat fat and protein, it is carbohydrates that need to be avoided. Because of this, it is known as a low carb/high protein, nutrition and weight loss system. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour. With this diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a consequence, olive oil. The Atkins’ Diet Theory The logic behind the famous atkins diet is that even though our bodies use both fats and carbs to burn into glucose and energy, it is the carbohydrates which are burned primarily. If we cut down on carbohydrates, we will consume the fat we have stored and we will achieve weight loss. This theory is divisive, not all specialists are in agreement and some experts feel it is sometimes unsafe. |
