Ingredients
2 cup flour
2/3 cup sugar
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup dark corn syrup
3 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp coconut extract
2 egg whites
1/3 cup flaked coconut
1 vegetable cooking spray
2 tbsp coconut, toasted
Directions
Preheata oven to 350F. Combine flour, sugar, soda and salat in a large bowl
and blend well. Combine syrup, oil, vanilla, coconut extract, and egg
whites; blend well. Stir into dryingrediets, just until combined. Add 1/3
cup coconut. Drop by level tablespoons onto sprayed baking sheets. Sprinkle
with toasted coconut. Bake 8 minutes; let cool on pan 1 minute before
removing to wire racks to cool completely. Per cookie: 66 cal., 0.9f pro.,
1.6g (22%) fat, 11.9g carb., 0.2g fiber, 0mg chol., 0.3mg iron, 52mg
sodium, 1mg calcium.

Low calorie diet
As most people know, the low calorie diet is based on the fact that if you want to get rid of some fat, the most important step is to take in fewer calories than you burn up. So what is a calorie? The calorie is the standard unit for energy measurement in dieting. A food calorie is the the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of one gram of water by one degree celsius. If a meal has more calories, then it will turn into more energy to use when your body burns it. Examples of low calorie foods include green beans, capsicum pepper, melon, low fat hot-dogs, and white eggs. The South Beach Diet The South Beach diet is a weight loss system created by Miami-based cardiologist arthur agatston which encourages the consumption of "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Dr. agatston developed his weight loss system for people who have cardiac problems, as a consequence of his analysis of scientific data on other weight loss studies. Good foods include, canadian bacon, turkey bacon, shellfish, fat free cheese, pistachio nuts, eggs and certain vegetables, such as kidney beans, cabbage and sprouts. Foods containing allyl sulfides ( includes pickled shallots, chives and spring onions) The onion family of vegetables is high in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe might be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Although there is insufficient real proof at hand, allyl sulphides are also thought to reduce symptoms with colds, arteriosclerosis and diabetes. Foods containing allyl sulfides also help you lose weight, so should be included in every weight loss regime. |
