The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a diet system started by Florida-based cardiologist arthur agatston which emphasizes that dieters should eat "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Doctor agatston developed his weight loss system for his cardiac patients, based on his detailed study of scientific studies completed on other weight loss regimes. Approved foods include, lean cuts of beef, turkey bacon, shellfish, feta cheese, pecan halves, nonfat yoghurt and some vegatables, like chickpeas, collard greens and mushrooms. Superfoods rich in flavonoids (inlcudes citrus fruits, broccoli, kidney bean & dill) The flavonoids discovered in these foods are thought by experts to have properties in helping to prevent cancer. Medical experts researching the medical effects of flavonoids believe that they could also have most other healthy properties, including anti-candida and anti-platelet properties. Most are also good for weight loss, so should be included in every weight loss regime. |
