With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour. Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and, as a result, poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil. The Atkins’ Diet Theory The theory of the atkins diet is that if we eat less carbs, we will consume the fat we have stored and we will lose weight The South Beach Diet The South Beach diet is a diet plan started by Florida-based cardiologist arthur agatston which encourages that dieters should eat "good carbs" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Agatston developed his nutritional system for his cardiac patients, based on his detailed study of scientific data on other dietary studies. Good foods include, lean cuts of beef, turkey breast, shrimp, feta cheese, peanut butter, lowfat or nonfat milk and some vegatables, like kidney beans, eggplant and mushrooms. |
