The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a weight loss system invented by Miami-based cardiologist arthur agatston which stresses that dieters should be eating "good carbs" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Dr. agatston developed his nutritional system for his cardiac patients, as a result of his detailed analysis of scientific studies completed on other weight loss systems. Examples of good foods include, broiled ham, skinless poultry, prawns, ricotta cheese, pistachios, lowfat yoghurt and some vegatables, such as kidney beans, collard greens and turnips. Cruciferous vegetables, Tasty superfoods that help with Dieting (includes Kale, Cabbage, Tatsoi and Chinese cabbage) Known as cruciferous vegetables, these are jam-packed with vitamins (eg.folate and vitamin c), minerals (eg. potassium), chlorophyll, fibre, indole-3-carbinol and isothiocyanates.. Amongst most other health benefits, the vitamins and nutrients in these are believed by many to significantly lower the risk of getting cancer. |
