The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi index diet is based around the gi (or glycaemic index), a list of foods and a score illustrating the ease that the glucose and energy in the food type gets transformed to glucose in your bloodstream. The claim is that slow release types of food (ie those food types with a low Glycaemic score), suppress your appetite for longer and help to consume fewer food without feeling hungry. It's also extremeley effective for people with diabetes, as the low GI food types are beneficial in managing surges in blood sugar secretion. A low calorie weight loss regime In short, a low calorie weight loss regime says that if you plan to reduce weight, the important thing to take in fewer calories than your body requires. What is a calorie? The calorie is the standard unit for energy measurement in dieting. The calorie is the the amount of energy required to raise one cubic centimeter of water by one degree centigrade. If a meal has higher calories, then it will gives you a larger amount of energy when consumed. Foods low in calories include bok choy, mushrooms, apricot, lower fat hot-dogs, and white eggs. Superfoods containing flavonoids (inlcudes lettuce, brussels sprouts, scarlet runner bean & cayenne) The flavonoids which are present in these fruit and vegetables are believed to be helpful as anti-carcinogens. Experts who have been studying the medical effects of flavonoids believe they may well have many other health giving capabilities, amongst them, anti-dermatitis and antitumor powers. Most are low in calories, so are ideal for including in your weight loss regime. |
