Types of diet

The Glycaemic Index Diet
The glycaemic index nutrition and weight loss system is based around the glycaemic index, a list of food types and a score illustrating the ease that the glucose of the food gets changed to glucose in the dieters system. The theory is that slow acting foods (ie those foods with a low Glycaemic score), suppress your appetite for longer and mean that you can reduce your intake of food without being miserabl;e.
It is also extremely effective for diabetics, as the low GI food types are helpful in reducing increases in blood glucose levels.

The Atkins’ Diet
Now nearly 5 decades old, the atkins diet has been one of the most popular weight loss systms over the last few years. Having many well known film stars amongst its supporters, it allows fat reduction whilst allowing foods that are normally considered bad for diets, such as fatty meat and eggs.
With this diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, it is carbohydrates that need to be avoided. It is referred to as a low carb/high protein, diet.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
With this diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are still nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a result, olive oil.

The Atkins’ Diet Theory
The logic of the atkins diet is that if we reduce your intake of carbohydrates, we will use up the fat we have stored and we will become thinner

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life.
